Priest, social activist, church builder
Józef Łakomy was born on 19 August 1922 in Trześnia district Kolbuszowa in a poor family, which attached great importance to the education of children. He was educated in Rzeszów, and then attended underground courses in Kolbuszowa. After the war he entered the theological seminary in Tarnów. In 1950 he was ordained a priest. He was both a priest and social activist. He supported young people's education by funding scholarships for young people whose families did not give them a chance for social advancement. He was known mainly as the builder of the church in Biadolin near Tarnów in the years 1964-1966, which was provided with furnishings over the time when he was the parson. He died in 1993 of a heart attack.
